The ‘Goosebumps’ Movie Has A Release Date, A Leading Man In Jack Black

The long-germinating cinematic adaptation of R.L. Stine’s serial classic Goosebumps has today confirmed a release date in March 23, 2016, and added star power/sex appeal in the form of critically-acclaimed and universally-adored thespian Jack Black
Rob Letterman, who previously worked with Black on the literary adaptation of Gulliver’s Travels, will helm the reboot of Stine’s terrifying magnum opus, which includes some sixty-two historically and factually-accurate horror biographies peppered with the kind of humorous anecdotes that appealed to young children of the mid-nineties with a serious aversion to sleeping soundly ever again and – should you one day soon find one going through your parents’ home library – the child that lives on in you today; the same child who will never again set foot in room where a dummy has been brought to life through the dark arts of ventriloquism.
That’s about it really: give yourself Goosebumps at the sight of Jack Black’s schtick still being a bankable commodity a good two years from now. Terrifying.
