The End of the F***ing World, Netflix’s delightfully dark comedy with a dollop of bloody violence, finally returns for a second season next month. November 5, to be precise.
The series is based on the award-winning comic books by Charles Forsman, and tells the tale of teens James (the excellent Alex Lawther) and Alyssa (the equally excellent Jessica Barden) as they, uh, set out on a road trip to find Alyssa’s dad, who left home when she was a child. That’s the very official gist.
The unofficial gist: James is convinced he’s a psychopath and is gearing up to kill his first human. And he reckons Alyssa is it, except things don’t go the way he wants them to.
Season 2, I assume, will reveal what happened on *that* day at the beach.
TEOTFW unveiled its first poster for season 2 overnight… and there’s an urn in it. Wonder who could be in there!

Last month, Netflix unveiled our first look at Alyssa as well as a new character named Bonnie. Played by Naomi Ackie (Lady Macbeth), Bonnie is described as an outsider with a troubled past and a ~ mysterious ~ connection to Alyssa.
HMM.

Please note that James is missing from all of the promotional material so far. Foreshadowing, perhaps?
You can re-binge season 1 on Netflix now, if you can’t remember anything from it. I wouldn’t blame you because season 1 originally came out on October 24, 2017. Netflix will probably upload a recap to YouTube so keep your eyes peeled for that.
Stay tuned for the trailer.
