The Block’s Winning Apartment Sold For $655,000 Above Asking Price

All the sweat, tears, rumoured non-stop partying, destruction of heritage-listed properties, subsequent fines for said destruction of heritage-listed properties, and the sad, bitter end of Whitney and Andrew‘s relationship has at last come to end, with The Block‘s finale airing last night. It is done.

The winner, ICYMI, was Newcastle’s Dean and Shay Paine, who sold their penthouse apartment for a whopping $2.3 million, but that doesn’t even compare to the fact that it went for $655,000 above its asking price.

Sydney: hey Melbourne, your housing market’s cooked it.

Melbourne: no, no, wait –

Sydney: JOIN THE CLUB.

Is that a bundt cake?

All up, a total of $2,539,000 was taken home by the five couples last night.

Luke and Ebony: Sold for $2.2 million, $640,000 above asking price.

Caro and Kingi: Sold for $1.735 million, $405,000 above asking price.

Andrew and Whitney: Sold for $1.79 million.

Suzi and Vonni: Sold for $1.829 million.

Meanwhile, we’re over here crying into our HECS debt at a Darlinghurst house that looks like a downmarket crack den going for $1.2 million.

*cries forever*
