We Asked Bachie’s Steph About Her Rogue Insta Account, Which Was Quite The Big ‘Oopsie’

The Bachelor Australia, Stephanie Lynch

Stephanie Lynch was quite the character on The Bachelor Australia, hey? From calling Holly Kingston a C U Next Tuesday to maybe (or maybe not) being in love with her ex – she brought it all.

Not to mention, it looks like Steph also made a sneaky Instagram on the side to comment (freely) on her final moments on the show… which she shared before the episode aired.

ICYMI: Channel 10 has full control of all the contestants’ main Instagram accounts, so, uh… awks.

We chatted to Steph about her colourful stint on The Bachelor, and here’s what she had to say.

PEDESTRIAN.TV: So, what’d ya think of last night’s episode?

Stephanie Lynch: I mean, as expected, you can can’t fit a week’s worth of footage into one episode. So there are bits and pieces omitted, um – gee, I really banged on about my ex, didn’t I?

PTV: Just a bit!

SL: He is a good dude, though. I have to clarify that my most recent ex and the pilot ex are two very separate people. I think that was confusing to some viewers.

PTV: Ahh, okay. So the most recent ex is the good ex?

SL: Yes, he is lovely.

PTV: Okay, cool. So what was that final one-on-one time with Jimmy [Nicholson] like when he pulled you aside at the cocktail party?

SL: Look, it was pretty heated. I was pretty salty when I left. Um, but bygones are bygones. It’s all good fun and I look back on it fondly now. I have no negative feelings towards Jimmy.

PTV: And what about the exit?

SL: Yeah, I mean, he called me on some shit. I don’t really know where the rumour about me being in love with my ex came from, because I certainly wasn’t having D&Ms with the Lilys and Tahnees of the mansion about my ex and dating history. So I don’t really know where that one came from and if I really wanted to be with my ex, don’t you think I would have hit him up instead of going on The Bachelor? Bit pointless.

PTVHow did the whole ex chatter even start, though? Like someone must have said something?

SL: I don’t know, honestly! I think it was more of a storyline on the show than it ever was actually in the mansion. It was all very unbeknownst to me, if I’m honest.

PTV: Were you happy with the way you were portrayed?

SL: [laughs] Happy is a such strong word. Don’t get me wrong, I love seeing the reactions. I think if me as a character has made the viewer at home feel something then I feel like I’ve done a good job. I love going on Twitter and reading the comments, and everyone’s like, “She’s evil! Get rid of Steph!” It just makes me laugh, it’s so funny. Like, “Her parents should be so disappointed.” They’re not, though, because they know me and they know I’m actually lovely in real life [laughs]. It’s just a character, you know? I think it’s hilarious, it’s been really fun to watch.

PTV: I feel like you got so much airtime compared to other women. Did you expect that?

SL: No! Because when you’re in the mansion, you do so many – they call them voxies and interviews – you spend so much time in front of the camera. They have just hours and hours and hours of footage of you and you kind of – in the mansion I’d always just remind myself, like, “Steph, even though you just talked at the camera for three hours the whole show is not about you. It’s not all about you, it’s not all about you.” And then, lo and behold, it actually turned out that it was all about me.

PTV: Have you spoken to Holly [Kingston] since?

SL: No, not Holly [laughs].

PTV: Do you plan to?

SL: Um [laughs] I think before the show went to air, I probably would’ve wanted to say, “Hey, no hard feelings. I actually don’t mind you.” But in hindsight, she might not feel so amicable towards me. So, we’ll just let that one go through the keeper.

PTV: So I just saw you made a private Instagram on the side and that you posted some Bachie content to it?

SL: Yes.

PTV: Is there anything you want to say about that?

SL: Not really [laughs]. I was doing so well! I hadn’t posted anything and then I went, “Okay, I’m off now.” And um, oopsie. It was my dog! I don’t know what you’re talking about!

PTV: Would you return to the Bachie franchise?

SL: [laughs] Would they have me is probably the better question!

PTV: [laughs] Would you do it, though?

SL: Oh, look – we’ll take it on a case by case basis. I’m just going to let this one ease out for the time being [laughs].

The Bachelor Australia airs Wednesdays and Thursdays on Channel 10.
