The 1st ‘Saw’ Film In 7 Years Is Finally Coming So Get Ready For Maximum Gore

Lovers of goreporn, unite: the ‘Saw‘ franchise is officially back after a seven year hiatus.

Well, *technically* that news has been around for a while – the big deal today is that Lionsgate has changed the title of its eighth ‘Saw’ film from ‘Saw: Legacy‘ to ‘Jigsaw‘, and confirmed a 2017 release date.

The news came from the official ‘Saw’ Twitter account, which until now has been dormant as hell, and mostly retweeting stuff about the ‘Blair Witch Project‘ reboot.

Tobin Bell
, who plays the now eponymous serial killer Jigsaw / John Kramer in the franchise, tweeted that the new film was “stunning”, which is an odd way to describe a series of increasingly gruesome deaths but there you go.

“Stunning.”
Production of the eighth film was first reported in January by the trade publications, announcing that Laura Vandervoot and Hannah Anderson were the first actors announced. However by that point, the film was already in post-production, so it looks like for whatever reason, Lionsgate were keeping this film well under wraps.

Y’know, until now, of course.

‘Jigsaw’ opens in the US on October 27 – a.k.a. four days before Halloween – with an international release scheduled for early 2018. Get amongst it.
