Ten Implore Us To “Take A Fresh Look”

Ten, as part of the network’s ongoing Face/Off style personality transplant, have abandoned the “Seriously” tagline (more like “Seriously?” am I right?) in favour of the shiny new sentiment – “Take A Fresh Look” . The mantra coincides with the network announcing that it will fast-track twelve international programs next month, including returning US hits Homeland, The Good Wife, NCIS, Hawaii Five-O, Law and Order: SVU, Glee, Merlin, Modern Family and New Girl and new programs including The New Normal (a sitcom about a gay couple who yearn for a baby), Ben and Kate (a sitcom about siblings who move in together) and Vegas (a show about Las Vegas which is different to that other show about Las Vegas?).

Ten also expect a strong showing from Underground: The Julian Assange Story, which received positive reviews when it premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this month.

Coincidentally, the US-centric campaign also coincides with the Australian film and television industry calling for more Australian content on free to air television*, which has decreased from 55 percent to just 35 percent in the past three years.

*As long as that content isn’t Everybody Dance Now, Being Lara Bingle, Don’t Tell the Bride, I Will Survive or The Shire.
