‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ Sequel Receives Questionable Green Light

Despite the impediment presented by Megan Fox’s general facial and career immobility, Paramount Pictures have this morning announced that they’ve given what is probably an unnecessary green light to a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles sequel, once again to be produced by art house auteur Michael Bay and slated to bow in June of 2016.

The decision comes off the back of a sound opening weekend in the Stateside market, where ticket sales garnered a casual $65 million at the domestic box office as part of a $93.7 million global debut, an impressive and/or disheartening feat in spite of underwhelming reviews that liken the movie to a hollow shell that reads closer to an exploitative hour-long ad for Pizza Hut than a worthwhile allocation of your time. Each to their own, I guess.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles opens in Australian theatres on September 11th and stars Megan Fox, Will Arnett, Whoopi Goldberg and William Fichtner.
