Disney Fans Wouldn’t Mind A Live-Action ‘Tangled’ W/ Cher & Amanda Seyfried

A couple of pictures from the London premier of Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again has made its way on the internet. It’s of our glorious queen Cher and the brilliant Amanda Seyfried. At first it’s merely just a gorgeous photo but then… and if you’re a Disney fan, there’s something just a tiny bit familiar about it.

This tweet and caption just about sums it up:

I mean, the resemblance to Mother Gothel and Rapunzel is just uncanny.

Here’s the insane bit though. Gothel’s Disney Wikia page has Cher as one of the character’s inspirations while Byron Howard, co-director of Tangled, told Cover Media way back in 2011 that “Cher… was one of the people we looked at visually as far as what gives you a striking character.”

It’s meant to be. And we wouldn’t have to worry about singing talent.

Naturally, the photo comparisons have led to an onslaught of Disney fans calling for the musical/broadway/work of art to happen:

While we’re all gathered, here’s a friendly reminder that Cher’s ABBA cover album is coming out next month – September 28 to be precise. It’s available to pre-order right now and if you do just that, you’ll cop the tune ‘GIMME! GIMME! GIMME! (A Man After Midnight)’ straight away.

You can jump on the pre-order, HERE.

The official track list to get you very excited:
