A couple of pictures from the London premier of Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again has made its way on the internet. It’s of our glorious queen Cher and the brilliant Amanda Seyfried. At first it’s merely just a gorgeous photo but then… and if you’re a Disney fan, there’s something just a tiny bit familiar about it.

This tweet and caption just about sums it up:

I mean, the resemblance to Mother Gothel and Rapunzel is just uncanny.
Here’s the insane bit though. Gothel’s Disney Wikia page has Cher as one of the character’s inspirations while Byron Howard, co-director of Tangled, told Cover Media way back in 2011 that “Cher… was one of the people we looked at visually as far as what gives you a striking character.”
It’s meant to be. And we wouldn’t have to worry about singing talent.
LOCK IT IN, DISNEY.
Naturally, the photo comparisons have led to an onslaught of Disney fans calling for the musical/broadway/work of art to happen:
Hmmm…..interesting resemblance ya got there…would be a real shame if someone….turNED TANGLED INTO A BROADWAY MUSICAL STARRING CHER AND AMANDA SEYFRIED https://t.co/ZJ6Sa4osnf

I think Pixar, DreamWorks, and Disney plan for live action movies because these characters resemble actors and actresses to much https://t.co/wIdjNuH0dw
