The first look, proper – as in not grainy secondhand footage filmed on an iPhone in a production house in China somewhere – at award-winning American writer-director Darren Aronofsky’s forthcoming film adaptation of The Bible the E True Biblical Story of Noah and the balsa wood ocean-liner the voices in his head instruct him to construct in order to save the world from certain peril, has just hit The Internet.
“Since I was a kid, I have been moved and inspired by the story of Noah and his family’s journey,” Aronofsky says of the project, the trailer for which drops tomorrow. “The
imaginations of countless generations have sparked to this epic story
of faith. It’s my hope that I can present a window into Noah’s passion
and perseverance for the silver screen.”
Russell Crowe stars as the eponymous ark-building conversationalist alongside previous Aronofsky player Jennifer Connelly, as Noah’s wife, Naameh, Anthony Hopkins as Methusaleh and Emma Watson as Noah’s daughter, Ila.
