Sydney Gets Its Own Version Of Monopoly

The hallowed properties of Monopoly, much loved board game and instigator of countless family arguments, have just been relocated to Sydney, Australia. That’s right, you can now travel from the Coogee Bay Hotel to Taronga Zoo in a small silver boot, pass go, and collect $200 AUD.

A local version of the board game was launched today, featuring 22 Sydney landmarks chosen by the public. Sydney Harbour was voted at the prime position populated by Mayfair on the classic edition, with Darling Harbour rounding out the exclusive blue properties.

Earlier this year, game manufacturer Winning Moves asked fans to submit their integral Sydney landmarks via Facebook. Other landmarks that made the board include Bondi Beach, Andrew Charlton Pool, Eastern Creek, Coogee Bay Hotel, Taronga Zoo, University of Sydney, Four Seasons Hotel and Kings Cross.

If an Australia-wide edition was made, what landmarks or properties do you think would be considered prime real estate?
