A $50 Million Powerball Winner In Sydney Still Hasn’t Claimed Their Prize

If you bought a Powerball ticket in the south of Sydney this week and you haven’t checked your numbers yet, then there is a slim chance you could be sitting on a $50 million prize and not even realise it – hope you didn’t forget and put your ticket through the wash or something.

The largest division one prize pool in the history of Australian lotteries fired off this week, with two winners. One of them has been identified as a Melbourne man in his 20s, but the other, presumably from New South Wales, has yet to come forward.

The seller of the lucky ticket has been identified as Broadarrow Newsagency in Narwee, and they have been informed, and while the winner has six years to come forward in NSW, lottery officials say that most typically identify themselves within two weeks.

Matt Hart of The Lott told media:

“As the southern Sydney entry was not registered to a Players Club card, officials have no way to contact the ticketholder and break the mind-blowing news. While we haven’t been able to confirm the win with our Sydney winner, we can guarantee that when they discover the news, their life is set to change when their bank accounts balloon by a whopping $50 million.”

He continued:

“Make sure you check your entry as soon as possible because you may not have to go to work on Monday. Instead, you could start planning how you can play by your own rules and begin your life as a newly-minted multi-millionaire.”

The anonymous Melbourne winner says he plans to “do the right thing” and invest in property and shares to help out his family, which is a solid move. You can check the results here to find out if you have the other winning ticket, and if you do, then go out and buy yourself something nice.
