Stu Laundy found out that he and Sophie Monk had officially split via Instagram and I am screaming.
As you all probably know by now, Sophie confirmed the Bachelorette couple was officially no more via Instagram last week.
“I gave it the best shot I could and my intentions were everything I said I was looking for, but unfortunately it just didn’t work out. As much as I respect him we are just very different people.”
That Instagram post confirmed rumours that had been flying almost since the season ended.
But as it turns out, that post also confirmed to Stu that he no longer had a girlfriend.
“It was Soph’s [decision], and apart from being so publicly brushed, I have no hard feelings whatsoever,” he told Nova‘s Fitzy and Wippa this morning.
“I sort of found out via Instagram, but we both knew in our hearts it was pushing towards a friendship – I think it was a decision we’d both been coming to.”

Of course, as to the ~why~ of the split, both of their mates are offering up explanations. Stu’s mate anonymously told News Corp that Sophie’s love of partying was to blame, while Sophie’s mate Kylie Sandilands (I know) reckons it’s because Stu disappeared for days at a time.
“I know what [men] are doing when they vanish for a couple of days at a time,” he said on KIIS FM. “Getting away from you.”
RIP to this relationship. Hello to single, ready to mingle Sophie.
