Here’s The Beaut Aussie Wedding Gown Worn By ‘B99’ Star Stephanie Beatriz

In case you missed it, Rosa Diaz from Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Stephanie Beatriz got married to some dude called Brad Hoss over the weekend, and we are beyond chuffed for the happy couple.

The good folks over at People had a chat with Beatriz ahead of the big day, and have today revealed that she gave a nod to her beloved leather jacketed character with her choice of wedding gown.

The gown she picked up from Aussie bridal brand Grace Loves Lace (yaasssss, a Strayan connection), was literally called the Rosa. You can buy the handmade dress HERE if you have a spare $2400 actually. Whether you’re getting married or not is irrelevant.

Beatriz told People: “There was a dress I came across called the Rosa. I’m not even kidding you. But the simple slip dress with beautiful lace roses all over it seemed too good to be true.”

She says she went in to try the dress – described on the Grace Loves Lace website as “for the woman who wants simplicity, luxury and intrigue” – on at their LA showroom:

I was like, ‘Nah, it’s not gonna look right, it’s not gonna fit.’ It was the last dress I went to try on. I went by myself to try it on, ’cause I was like, I just want to get it out of my head. And I put it on and it was like, oh yeah, this is the one.

Sadly when PEDESTRIAN.TV contacted the brand they told us the name is simply a New Latin translation of “under the rose“, referring to the dress’ full rose pattern embroidery, rather than an homage to the ballsiest B99 character.

Still pretty uncanny though, right?

Beatriz was extremely pleased that she could bring a little piece of her character to the altar with her, practically gushing about the impact the show has had on her as a person:

I never would’ve gotten to the place where I would’ve even been open to Brad as a partner if it hadn’t been for my time on Brooklyn Nine-Nine. All of my friends on that show have just taught me so much about myself, the experience of being on that show has taught me so much about myself as a human being. And it really has helped mould me into the person that I am and the partner that I think I can be for Brad. The fact that that dress is symbolically gonna be there, that’s gonna be on my body when I marry him, is really special to me.

Beatriz and Hoss had an LA-themed wedding, featuring food trucks, a Flamin’ Hot Cheetos pop-up, cold-pressed juice and kombucha. Instead of a cake the couple offered guests personalised ice cream sandwiches from a queer and female-owned food truck called Coolhaus Beatriz said she was “psyched” to support.

The reception also featured a spot for late night coffee, a flat-shoe vending machine, a photo booth, and a space for people to add a little charm to their nails.

And then, of course, we have a ’90s cover band playing,” Beatriz said. “We asked all the guests to submit their favourite ’90s songs, and we got a pretty solid rocking list of songs. It’s gonna be hella fly! I’m so psyched.

Here’s a few recently emerged Insta shots, featuring the cast’s partners like Chelsea Peretti and Jordan Peele, Joe Lo Truglio and Beth Dover, and Melissa Fumero with her mate Gaby Road.
