Remember watching the relationship that is Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt unfold? Surely no one thought that shit was going to last. We mean, so many things were standing in their way, and we’re not just talking about Heidi’s former bestie LC absolutely despising the man.
If you remember correctly there was also that thing with Audrina, an assorted group of Playmates and, of course, the woman who was purely known by her job, Stacie The Bartender. Then there was the almost-secret vasectomy, which was cooked / entertaining on many levels. Even if it was all a big reality TV lie and we secretly love all things Speidi (including his hummingbird obsession), there’s no denying that Spencer would be quite the ride in a relationship.
Someone who knows that full well? Spencer’s estranged sister, Stephanie Pratt. He served her a lot of crap on hit “reality” show The Hills. “Things between my brother and I on The Hills were unscripted – that was completely real, at least for me,” Stephanie told PEDESTRIAN.TV during a recent chat for streaming service Hayu (where you can go to relive the six seasons of glory).
Their differences are still alive and well today – the only difference now is that it’s got less to do with Lauren and more to do with, well, we don’t even know. “I just don’t really have a – no I don’t have a relationship with either of them,” she said. Speidi didn’t even tell their sister / sister-in-law that they were expecting, which is pretty rough.
“I’ve been in LA for a month and a half, I haven’t seen them or talked to them and I found out she was pregnant on my birthday on The Daily Mail,” she explained. When I asked Steph if she was going to be involved with her new niece or nephew, she replied, “Ah, no.“
She continued:
“In April when it was announced, everyone was like ‘God, aren’t you upset blah blah blah and I was like, ‘You know, this is the way they do things.’
I’m sure there was a reason and it makes sense to them and so I called them and I FaceTimed them and I was really excited for them and congratulated them, and I definitely did think that when I was going to be in LA that I would see or speak to them, but that’s just not part of their agenda.
“There’s that saying that babies change people, right? So hopefully this baby changes them.”
Spencer and Heidi are part of the ever growing list of Hills alum popping babies out since the show, with LC, Kristin Cavallari, Whitney Port, Audrina and Holly Montag all mummas now. Seems that Steph’s as shook as we all are on that front.
“Even Jason Wahler’s wife. Even people from Laguna Beach. It’s gone beyond just The Hills. I texted Lo [Bosworth], and I was like, ‘Are you going to come to Laguna for the 4th or are you going to stay in New York?’ And she was like ‘I’m coming and I was like “You better not tell me you’re fucking pregnant and she was ‘Girllll, I’m not’. And I was like ‘Great.’ But literally, it’s just Lo and I.”
