Stan’s Looking To Make Long Flights Bearable W/ New Offline Viewing Service

Look, if I’m entirely honest, when it comes to my chosen streaming devices, I have a real soft spot for Stan over Netflix. It’s home grown, it offers some killer Amazon and Showtime shows that are hard to source elsewhere (AKA thank you for encouraging my Twin Peaks/Transparent‘ obsessions).

And Stan is gonna get a helluva lot better too (if that’s even possible). Today, they announced that offline viewing is going to be available from March. What a treat. We are all very excited.
Basically, you’ll be able to download tonnes of content and watch it without needing to rely on a solid connection. It’s pretty rare these days to be sans internet, but boasting a catalogue of ready to watch eps on your phone/laptop will save you in dire times – like if your inflight entertainment isn’t working on a 13-hour plane ride, or your wifi doesn’t quite reach your bathroom and you’re already in the tub; eyeballs bleeding with irritation because the newest ep of Sherlockjust won’t stop buffering.
While Stan’s entire range won’t be available, most of it will, and it’s all the things worth watching anyway. The aforementioned ‘Twin Peaks’, ‘Transparent’ and ‘Sherlock‘ are on offer, as well as fellow pearlers Mozart in the Jungle, Breaking Bad‘, Better Call Saul, and muchos more.
The future starts NOW, folks. And if you don’t have a Stan subscription, do yourself a favour and get one.
