Spike Lee’s ‘Red Hook Summer’ Trailer Revealed

The trailer for director Spike Lee‘s latest offering, Red Hook Summer, has been released after polarising audiences at Sundance earlier this year. Lee has dubbed the film a “chronicle of Brooklyn” that follows on from his canon of Brooklyn-centric cinema including She’s Gotta Have It, Do The Right Thing, Crooklyn and He Got Game.

The feature has received positive hype for the performance of The Wire actor Clarke Peters, and because of Lee’s resurrection of Brooklyn pizza delivery boy Mookie, from his 1989 breakthrough Do The Right Thing.

The plot centres around a sullen Atlanta-born boy forced to spend a Summer with his bible bashing Grandfather in the projects of Red Hook. From the first trailer we can ascertain there will be much gospel chanting, corn rows and character-building obstacles to overcome. Check it out now…
