Sorry To Tell You, But It Looks Like ‘Suicide Squad 2’ Is Gonna Happen

We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it looks like the sequel to DC‘s unanimously panned super villain flick ‘Suicide Squad‘ might actually be happening.

Per reports in The Hollywood Reporter, the studio is in negotiations with ‘The Legend of Tarzan‘ writer Adam Cozad to pen the sequel.

‘Suicide Squad’ might have opened to mixed reviews from fans and an absolute savaging from the critics, but it did gross almost AU $1 million (US $745) worldwide, which is enough for the studio to fast track its doomed sequel baby right along.

David Ayer – who wrote and directed the 2016 movie – will be nowhere near production, instead focusing on his Gotham City Sirens series, which focuses on the female villains of the DC Universe (and reunities him with Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn).

But don’t get your hopes up. ‘The Legend of Tarzan’ might have featured a shirtless Alexander Skarsgård making eyes at Robbie’s Jane Clayton, but that didn’t save it from a dismally low 36% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
