Sophie Turner Would Like You To Know She Is 100% Not The Coffee Cup Culprit

Sophie Turner

Ball of electric energy Sophie Turner has exploded onto The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to investigate just who left that stray coffee cup in a scene during the last episode of Game of Thrones.

After so many precious memes and an apology / hehe statement, the coffee cup – Rest In Peace – has since been removed from the scene, becoming the latest death in this brutal series. Who actually did it? Dunno. But a brave Fallon pointed his finger at Turner after she was pictured with a coffee cup on set with Bella Ramsey, AKA Lyanna Mormont. Again, RIP. But as Turner very clearly explained, said picture was captured a whole episode ago.

“We all have the same cups for all of our water and tea and everything,” Turner said.

So with this in mind she yelled “J’accuse!” (not really) and literally pointed her finger (yes really) at the Mother of Dragons, Emilia Clarke.

“I mean, look who it’s placed in front of…” she said. “Emilia Clarke, she’s the culprit.”

When the episode first aired on HBO, the cast did notice the offending cup. According to Turner, only Jaime Lannister actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau sent out a group text to confirm its wild existence.

“There was one text, and it was from Nikolaj Coster-Waldau,” she said. “He just wrote, ‘Great episode. Is that a coffee cup?’”

Yes, yes it was Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.

AH WELL.

Discussion of the coffee cup culprit begins around the 2:30 mark of the video but honestly, the entire interview is quite the ride.

Game of Thrones airs Mondays on Foxtel.

Meanwhile, at a basketball game somewhere across the pond.
