Queen of our hearts Sophie Monk has revealed that she is ready to settle down and get married to her new boyfriend Joshua Gross, otherwise known as the mystery bloke she pashed on a plane earlier this year, and we could not be happier for her.
Monk told the story of their meeting to KIIS 106.5 a few months back, saying that she was seated next to the marketing executive in business class on a flight out of Europe. Though she claimed to be a mess, with various hair extensions and eyelashes coming loose, they quickly hit it off.
She told Kyle and Jackie O that her seat-mate was “charming and funny” and apparently had no idea who she was or what she did, so after a few glasses of champers, she decided to go for it, saying:
“I was sitting there for a while and I went, ‘hey, um, are you single?’ And he went, ‘yeah.’ I went, ‘I don’t ever get to meet people in normal scenarios and, um, can I kiss you?’ I thought, ‘oh god I’ve got a ten-hour flight with this guy, if he says no I’m in trouble.’”
He said yes, though, and the pair are still together months later. Though Sophie Monk hasn’t posted much about Gross on social media, she did share an image of him, thanking him for standing by her when she underwent surgery for endometriosis.
In a recent interview with the Daily Telegraph, the Bachelorette and Love Island star said that Gross is currently in the midst of a divorce, but when that goes through, they are talking about getting married themselves.
She said she is keen on a small wedding, preferably in her back yard on the Gold Coast, surrounded by friends and family. “”I have waited and gone through so much shit to meet someone so good,” she said, presumably referring to her recent breakup with Stu Laundy.
