Sophie Monk Is Way Too Embarrassed To Watch Herself On ‘The Bachelorette’

It’s only four days until we get to see Sophie Monk make her debut on The Bachelorette, in what will surely go down as one of the greatest and most significant events in the history of Australian television.

While we’re excited to see Sophie dishing out witticisms and dropping truth bombs, especially after Matty J‘s relatively beige season of The Bachelor, Sophie herself says she won’t be tuning in, as the nerves are too great.

In a recent Saturday Telegraph interview, Monk was asked if she plans to watch her love story unfold, and her answer was a hard no, because the prospect of seeing herself raw and vulnerable (to use one of Matty’s favourite words) on television is much too daunting.

“No way, I’m not [watching] at all,” she told the publication. “It’s so embarrassing. I usually act or pretend to be someone else but this is way too honest. No one wants to see themselves unfiltered.”

Channel Ten knows it has a hit on its hands with Sophie Monk’s season of The Bachelorette, and they’ve been promoting the absolute hell out of it for the last few weeks, ahead of its debut on Wednesday.

Overnight, Sophie let us know the five things she’s looking for in a bloke. Ideally, she’d like a straight man who doesn’t wear budgie smugglers, and isn’t prettier than she is. We are so beyond ready for this.
