Son of ‘Hunger Games’ Assistant Director Made Chilling Revenge Threats in Mass-Shooting Video

A young man who allegedly killed six people in a California drive-by shooting posted a chilling video of himself in the lead-up to the event, explaining his plans for “retribution” and “revenge”. The 22-year-old, named Elliot Rodger, was the son of Peter Rodger, an assistant director on the Hunger Games series.

In the video, embedded below, he explained his motive as a sense of rejection, and the whole thing is pretty much too terrible for words.

“Ever since I hit puberty, I’ve been forced to endure an existence of loneliness, rejection and unfulfilled desires, all because girls have never been attracted to me,” he said. “Girls gave their affection and sex and love to other men, but never to me. I’m 22 years old and still a virgin. I’ve never even kissed a girl.”

“I don’t know why you girls aren’t attracted to me,” he continued, before promising to “punish” women for this. “I’m the perfect guy, and yet you throw yourselves at all these obnoxious men instead of me, the supreme gentleman.”

The video was reportedly recorded a day before Rodger went on a rampage in the upscale suburb of Santa Barbara. The shootings reportedly lasted for about six minutes, as he drove by in the same black BMW seen in the video. Witnesses say he stopped and spoke to passers-by before picking up targets.

Rodger killed six and wounded 11 in the shooting spree. At least three of the victims were members of a sorority house at Santa Barbara City College, the same institution that he reportedly attended. He was killed in a shoot-out, but police have not said whether he took his own life or was shot by sheriff’s deputies. A semi-automatic handgun was found next to Rodger’s body.

Santa Barbara sheriff Bill Brown said that “written and videotaped evidence” attained by authorities suggests that “this atrocity was a premeditated mass murder.”
