One of the most WTF moments in last night’s Bachelor In Paradise episode (aside from the teased out same-sex kiss that was actually just long haired Thomas FFS) was absolutely when extremely jealous Simone Ormesher bitchily pointed out supposed ‘flab’ on love rival Rachael Gouvignon, before saying she wasn’t pretty and comparing her to a penguin.

In good news, Tara Pavlovic and Sam Cochrane, the two other contestants in the convo, shut her down REAL quick for her nasty body-shaming bullshit.
To give you some context – Simone’s been hanging out with Apollo for, oh, 4 days. Rachael entered the island last night and has been flirting up a storm with our dude Apollo – a flirt fest that’s been pretty mutual tbh. Simone no likey.

Simone’s obviously aware fans are nooooot exactly happy with her after the comments, and posted this apology on her Instagram story today.
Look props to her for apologising and acknowledging what she said was fucked up. But editing? Really? Honey, the producers can’t physically put words in your mouth.
She followed up the Insta post with an emotional video to camera, but she’s deleted it. Thankfully fans have written out what she said, though.
‘The shows are very edited. I’m not a mean person… Okay I’m a bit jealous but I’m not what they’re making me out to be, it’s actually insane. I’m upset that I said a comment like that, I would never want to put anyone down at all.’
My issue? Sure, the show is edited. We know this – they can absolutely cut furtive looks and sassy cocktail sips to make it look like people have the green-eyed monsters about other couples. But mate, you SAID those things. So you did put someone down. Props for saying sorry but TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THE SHIT YOU SAID.
Whether Simone and Apollo last the series is yet to be seen – although Michael gave us the lil lowdown that there’s more drama to come there with Elora… SPICY.
