It Looks Pretty Damn Certain That ‘DWTS’ Judge Sharna Burgess Is The Next Bachelorette

After a month of burgeoning speculation, it’s looking more and more likely that Dancing With The Stars judge Sharna Burgess will grace our telly screens as the next Bachelorette.

Former Big Brother winner Ben Norris essentially confirmed the tea during TV Blackbox‘s podcast, reporting that he’d been informed about Burgess being the next Bachelorette at the same time as Locky Gilbert being the latest Bachelor. (This was prior to 10’s announcement that Gilbert would, in fact, be fronting the upcoming season.) “The contract is dry and she is going to be The Bachelorette,” he added.

PEDESTRIAN.TV understands she’s dead keen for the role (who wouldn’t be?), and has been spruiking her candidacy internally for months.

Burgess’ comments to Entertainment Tonight last year seemingly substantiate this: “I am absolutely looking for love, I’m ready for love. I am getting more and more open to being The Bachelorette”.

As previously reported, Burgess took to The Babble, Nova’s podcast hosted by Natalie Bassingthwaighte and Matty J, to discuss her potential participation in the upcoming show.

“Everyone is on board for me to do this show and everyone is really interested in me doing it,” she said, at one point. “That’s talking friends, family, and everyone I have an interview with right now is asking me about it. I’m the one who’s like ‘I don’t know!’”

It’s pretty common for Network 10 to recycle talent through their shows (à la Angie Kent as the last Bachelorette, and Matty J as Bachelorette runner-up to Bachelor and other gigs), so Burgess’ participation seems very likely.

Watch this loving, rose-scented space.
