‘Sex And The City’ Teen Prequel Confirmed As TV Series

Important news time you guys. Just as we all suspected, the lifeless horse* that is the Sex And The City franchise has yet to be sufficiently flogged. It has recently been confirmed that Carrie, Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte are going back to the future in a forthcoming television series based on Candace Bushnell’s before-they-were-hos prequel novel The Carrie Diaries.

The show, set during Carrie’s high school days, has been given the go ahead by American network the CW and will be produced by the folks behind The O.C. and Gossip Girl, Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage. With their penchant for colourful, salacious teenage melodrama, this could actually turn out alright…

Many people considered the universally-panned SATC movie sequel to be the final nail in the coffin for the four best friends, but nothing is impossible when a lot of cash and a well-worn franchise are involved.

*No Sarah Jessica Parker jokes please.
