The Sex and the City revival series has begun filming, as you will have noticed from the show’s official Insta plus all the sneaky shots shared to international goss-giver, Deuxmoi.
The Sex and the City revival, titled And Just Like That…, looks super chic and sleek, but we have a gazillion questions, from ‘WTF are they gonna do without Samantha?’ to ‘How will they address the extremely probbo aspects of the OG?’
It might be a while ’til we get any of those answers, but thanks to leaked pages from the script (!!!), we’ve copped a glimpse at how the storyline will go and basically, we’re still at the same toxic place that we were in when we last saw the ladies in Sex and The City: The Movie 2 (I crossed that out because the second film doesn’t exist, in this house we only honour the first one).
Page Six reported that Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), who is now in her 50s and the host of a podcast, and her husband Mr. Big (Chris Noth) “appear to be over and fighting over finances in a plot familiar to many real-life Manhattan socialites.” Surprise, surprise.

And not only that, but she’s also still monopolising her catch-ups with her friends by talking about how shit Big has been and doll, we’ve been over this a million times, FFS.
In one scene, Carrie is having dins with her besties Stanford Blatch (Willie Garson), Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte York Goldenblatt (Kristin Davis), where she reveals to them that things aren’t going well in her marriage (YA THINK?).
Carrie says to her pals: “I was taping the podcast, I was washing my hair. Yes, I wasn’t eating or sleeping, but at least I felt good about my marriage. Now I’m just one of the wives he was taking care of?”

The saving grace of the Sex and the City revival is that they’re working on fixing the OG’s HUGE diversity problem.
HBO Max recently announced a bunch of fresh faces joining And Just Like That… including Grey’s Anatomy queen Sara Ramírez, Nicole Ari Parker, Sarita Choudhury and Karen Pittman.
Ramírez, who you’ll remember as Dr. Calle Torres on Grey’s, will play Che Diaz, a nonbinary, queer comedian who hosts a podcast that regularly features Carrie.
Nicole Ari Parker, best known for her role on Empire, will play Lisa Todd Wexley, a Park Avenue mama-of-three, nicknamed LTW.
Choudhury, meanwhile, will play Seema Patel, a single, self-made Manhattan real estate broker. And finally, Pittman, will appear as Columbia Law professor Dr. Nya Wallace.
I have no idea how those guys will fit into the story, but we shall see.
