A few months back, I was among millions of fuming Selenators who boycotted fash label Dolce & Gabbana after its co-founder Stefano Gabbana called Selena Gomez “so ugly” (not that I’d ever put those rags on my body, anyway).

The foul-mouthed Italian fashion mogul shared his uninvited, not to mention stoopid, opinion on the 26-year-old’s looks via Instagram, writing “É proprio brutta!!!” (which translates to “so ugly!!!”) in the comments section of an appreciation post.
Loads of Gomez’s famous pals immediately came to her defence including Miley Cyrus, Madison Beer and Julia Michaels but Sel herself remained silent on the matter. However, fans reckon her latest beauty moment is a clap back at Gabbana.

The singer had the word ‘UGLY’ bejewelled on the side of her hair which is quite an odd choice, leading fans to believe that she must’ve been making a statement.
Gomez has been known to send messages via her clothing as evidenced by many previous examples.
Just as her bestie Demi Lovato was hospitalised for an apparent overdose, Sel stepped out wearing a top with the words ‘KEEP THE FAITH’ on the back.

And when her ex Justin Bieber got engaged to Hailey Baldwin and people started to wonder how Selena felt, she stepped out wearing a top that had the words ‘ONLY THE STRONG SURVIVE’ emblazoned on it.

Last year, she donned a ‘WE ARE ALL DREAMERS’ sleeveless top during a Coach photoshoot in support of the children under the DACA act.
And just as the separation of children from their parents started to go down in the U.S., Sel was spotted wearing a ‘CHOOSE EMPATHY’ sweater which fans noted was an obvious message to the leaders of the country who were making heartless decisions.

Well played, queen.
