While some of us are pretty stoked about the second coming of Jelena, apparently not everyone is thrilled that Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are bumping uglies once more.
According to E! Online, Gomez’s family are less than thrilled about her reconciliation with her ex-boyfriend, who she’s been spotted hanging out with – and openly kissing, gasp – in recent weeks.
The outlet claims that Gomez’s mum, Mandy Teefey, is especially displeased about her daughter’s choice of bf. A source tells E! Online:
Her family is not happy about them being together at all. They do not think he is a good person for Selena to have in her life and are skeptical that he has changed. Even if he is on his best behaviour for now, eventually he will unravel.
He has caused so much angst for the family and for Selena. They are very sad that she is choosing this route. They want to protect her as much as they can, but it is causing them a great deal of stress and pain to watch her give him another chance.
The publication also reports that Bieber won’t be invited to the Gomez family’s Christmas celebrations, which seems like the ultimate snub.
Rumours about a mother-daughter feud have been swirling since Teefey was hospitalised last week for “stress”, with Perez Hilton claiming that the medical situation occurred after “a heated argument” with Gomez over Bieber.
TMZ reports that a family member called the LAPD, asking them to do a welfare check on Teefey at a Los Angeles hotel. She voluntarily sought medical attention shortly after.
While it’s all just “sources” and “reports” right now, eagle-eyed fans have also noticed that Gomez, the most-followed person on Instagram, no longer follows her mum on the social media app – and vice versa.
