Aussie comedian Rove McManus has returned to telly with a new late night series, Saturday Night Rove which is said to have debuted to shocking ratings back in August.

Following the poor viewership, Channel 10 has reportedly been doing whatever they can to drum up interest in the show, including churning out ads with fan reviews that have been edited to appear more positive than they were intended.

In one promo, a bunch of fan tweets are displayed across the screen, one of which reads: “Amazing… FUNNY!”

In reality, the user had Tweeted: “#SaturdayNightRove Soo I kinda liked it, it’s not amazing but it’s funny and can we get some musical performances please?”

Another tweet read: “ROVE! Fantastic to have you back!!”

The OG tweet had been much less positive: “Rove, it’s fantastic to have you back but you need to listen to your loyal fans and change the format [of the show] please.”

After noticing how his words had been mangled by the network, the above commenter called them out with the following tweet:

“Network Ten manipulated my original tweet, unfortunately if you read my tweets you will see I was not impressed,” he wrote.

In a statement to TV Blackbox, a network spokesperson said that the fudged tweets were a result of “human error”.

“The inclusion of these tweets was human error. We have updated our processes to ensure it doesn’t happen again,” the statement read.
