Sarah Palin Admits Being Fooled By Sacha Baron Cohen’s “Truly Sick” New Show

Former Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin has revealed she was “duped” by Sacha Baron Cohen‘s upcoming comedy show Who Is America?, and condemned the British comedian for impersonating a wounded veteran during his deliberately misleading interview.

In a Facebook post, Palin said Cohen presented her the opportunity to speak for a “legit Showtime historical documentary” regarding American vets, and that she accepted “out of respect for what I was led to believe would be a thoughtful discussion with someone who had served in uniform.”

Instead, Baron Cohen went ahead and… well, did undisclosed Sacha Baron Cohen things, which Palin said led to her removing her mic and getting the hell out.

“Mock politicians and innocent public personalities all you want, if that lets you sleep at night,” Palin said, “but HOW DARE YOU mock those who have fought and served our country.

“Truly sick.”

Her claims come after reports that Baron Cohen successfully lampooned a host of prominent figures in American politics, including former Democratic presidential hopefuls Bernie Sanders and Howard Dean.

In a teaser for the show. it was revealed that former Vice President Dick Cheney, who served his time in the thick of the Iraq War, was asked to sign a “waterboarding kit”.

It’s yet to be seen exactly what Baron Cohen did to Palin, but we’ll be closer to finding out when Who Is America? hits Australian screens on Stan this Sunday.
