But sometimes, people get their comeuppance, which is what happened to our friend Ryan this week — and the whole thing has a delightfully festive twist to it.
The Deadpool star took to Instagram with a post recalling his own embarrassment after his pals (or “fucking assholes” as he’s now describing them) Hugh and Jake Gyllenhaal apparently invited him to an ugly sweater party but didn’t actually don the said tragic outwear themselves.
It’s a trick as old as time — who can forget the iconic Playboy bunny scenes in both Legally Blonde and Bridget Jones’ Diary? — and even Hollywood’s elite aren’t immune to it.
