Ryan Gosling Casts Ben Mendelsohn In His Debut Fantasy Film

Human dreamboat Ryan Gosling has reportedly cast late-blooming Australian actor Ben Mendelsohn alongside inspirational curvy woman (and actress) Christina Hendricks in his feature film debut, the noir fantasy ‘How To Catch A Monster.’

According to Collider, ‘How To Catch A Monster‘ is a dark fairytale that tells the story of a mother who works in a fetish club (Hendricks) and her two sons, one of whom – called Bones, apparently (very macabre) – ‘discovers a secret underwater town’ then enters the ‘dark, macabre place he’s stumbled upon.’ Gosling wrote the ambitious script himself, and co-starred with Mendelsohn in ‘Blue Valentine’ director Derek Cianfrance’s also dark and also unreleased film, ‘The Place Beyond The Pines.’ It’s understood that it was there on set that the two first danced together the fruitful dance of bromance.
Earlier this week Mendelsohn starred in Florence Welch’s new music video for ‘Lover to Lover‘ and is currently featured in every brilliant crime movie, meaning he will fit into ‘How To Catch A Monster‘ in the same way that Ryan Gosling fits into all the clothes he has ever worn; that is, with dark, brooding perfection.
