Years after the last episode of All Aussie Adventures was filmed, tru-blu outback icon Russell Coight has made an appearance on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here, and viewers – including us! – were completely hyped.
To call him “the man, the myth, the legend” would be a gross understatement. So it made sense that everyone was super eager to see him grace our screens once again.

But during almost all of the episode, he was nowhere to be seen. Was he supposed to be an intruder? Would he be in a challenge? Perhaps he’d join the hosts?
It wasn’t until the final moments of the episode with Russell Coight finally appeared before our eyes.
Some people were pleased. Bless their easily-satisfied hearts.
Loved Russell Coight’s video visit to the jungle.

But many of us were left feeling a bit let down after all the hype, even if we did generate that hype and inflict it upon ourselves.

That being said, those brief two-and-a-half minutes of airtime we did get were a pretty good homage the All Aussie Adventures episodes from almost 20 years ago.
It was that usual mix of ineptitude, slapstick and fart jokes woven to an iconic tapestry of Aussie comedy.
Although one moment, in which Russell Coight got bitten on the face by a snake, hit a bit too close to home, considering it was only the night before when we witnessed former Australia’s Funniest Home Videos host Toni Pearen herself cop a snake bite to the face at close quarters.

And, seeing as they had the actor Glenn Robbins at the ready, some people reckoned they may as well have roped in oldmate Kel Knight from Kath & Kim while they were at it.
Why does everyone announce him as Russell Coight when we ALL damn well know that man is Kel Knight, the purveyor of fine meats.

Time to hit the road.
