Royal Overlords May Have Flubbed Tech To Accidentally Reveal Baby Name

While the world waits with bated breathe for what a bunch of royals will be naming the next peasant overlord, it looks like the official royal website might have accidentally jumped the gun. This is what happens when you bring a relic of feudal times into the 21st Century: they fuck it up.

Bookies have been guessing that the third child of William and Kate will be likely named Arthur, Albert, James, Alfred, Louis or Henry, with Alexander coming in as a late contender after Alexander Downer joked to William if he’d thought about his own name. Wills replied, “Funny you should say that,” and the rumour mills went into overdrive. (OH MY GOD PEOPLE HE WAS BEING POLITE.)

However, it looks like the royals have absolutely cooked this one already, accidentally revealing the royal baby name via the awesome power of technology.

A page for a “Prince Albert” exists privately on www.royal.uk, throwing up an “access denied” message if you go to www.royal.uk/prince-albert.

It’s the same message seen if you try to navigate to “prince-george” or “princess-charlotte”. But if you manually type in any of the other name contenders – Arthur, James, Alfred, Alexander, or Louis – you instead get a “page not found” message.

Weirdly enough, “Henry” – which is technically Prince Harry‘s real name – doesn’t come up, either. His page is “Prince Harry”. Fair enough, ya’ ginger bastard.

Since neither George nor Charlotte‘s pages are public, it’s intensely curious as to why they exist in the first place (presumably becoming public when the royals turn 18 and/or they want to use it). Is this the royals version of the family WhatsApp chat?

Meanwhile, the public is expecting the new prince’s name any day now, after both George and Charlotte’s names were released within days of the birth.

Excited to find out both the name and obtain watertight proof that the royals might be stupidly rich and own some prime real estate, but they’re a bunch of fucking buffoons on the computer.
