HEAD’S UP: Cult Aussie Web Series ‘Rostered On’ Is Making Its TV Debut Tonight

We know the last thing a whole bunch of you might want to do after getting home from a day of working in retail would be to watch a show about people working in retail, but we promise this one’s worth the trouble. Cult Australian web series Rostered On is officially making the jump from streaming to broadcast TV in just a few short hours, with its second season premiere set to air on 7Mate this evening.

The show’s first season, shot on a shoestring budget, racked up enough attention on YouTube that it eventually found its way to Netflix, before Channel Seven jumped on board for season two; becoming the first narrative comedy series commissioned by 7Mate in the process.

The series follows the fictitious electrical store ElectroWorld, and skewers – or, in some cases, portrays verbatim – the hellish nightmare world of working in retail, from asshole customers to shithead managers to dickhead co-workers with God complexes who treat selling basic-ass InkJet printers like they were brokering peace in the Middle East.

One of those faces you’re likely to recognise as Nick Boshier, he of Bondi Hipsters and/or Trent From Punchy fame. His Hipster cohort Christiaan Van Vuuren makes a guest appearance during season two, as does Australian comedy cornerstone Bob Franklin.

Keen to give a burl? You should be, it looks mad. You can cop the season two premiere of Rostered On tonight on 7Mate at 9pm.

More like spendings, am I right? *vomits*
