Wednesday night, a resplendent Ron Burgundy visited the Conan set with an important piece of information. After an extended jazz flute solo and comments on Conan’s appearance, “you look like someone put a bright red fright wig on a skeleton and chucked it out of a helicopter”, the newscaster and indiscriminate teleprompter reader freed everyone from their glass cages of emotion and confirmed the Anchorman sequel we’ve all been waiting for.
“Paramount Pictures and myself, Ronald Joseph Aaron Burgundy, have come to terms on a sequel to Anchorman,” he said.
Anchorman 2 will be produced by Judd Apatow, written by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay (Step Brothers, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby), who will also direct, and star original co-anchors Steve Carell, Paul Rudd and David Koechner.
We’re eating a whole wheel of cheese in anticipation.
