Robert Kirkman Is Already Teasing Death, Madness For Season Six Of ‘The Walking Dead’

The blood on the ground in Atlanta has barely dried following the fifth season finale of The Walking Dead, and the show’s creators are already talking up the mayhem that they’re preparing to unleash upon us all in season six.

Creator of the original comic book series and key figure in the show’s plotting, Robert Kirkman is already throwing verbal titbits at the rabid swarming mass that is the show’s fan base, well before a single frame of the new season has been shot.
Appearing at a panel during the 2015 National Association of Broadcasters Show, Kirkman, sitting alongside AMC President Charlie Collier and Stephen Yeun, hinted that the end of season five will set off a potentially deadly chain reaction of events that will dominate storylines throughout season six.
Needless to say, this gets a wee bit spoiler-ish, so if you don’t want to know the score, look away now.
According to The Wrap, Kirkman told the crowd that Rick and Morgan‘s pairing will have a big influence over the season.

“Having Rick and Morgan together, finally, again is a huge deal, and it’s definitely going to be a big part of Season 6. Now it’s a very different Rick and a very different Morgan who are going to have a completely different relationship. And it’s the questions of how they’re going to interact, how they’re going to work together — if they’re going to work together — and what comes from those interactions is going to be basically the spine of season six.”

Additionally, and thanks to the presence of Yeun, Kirkman discussed the heavily rumoured death of Glenn, reportedly telling the room, “We don’t kill the popular characters,” with more than a hint of sarcasm; a comment that was met with roars of laughter from the crowd.

Yeun commented, but didn’t confirm, on a potential demise for Glenn.

“The way that we make the show — the writers and everybody really want to focus on making things poignant and purposeful and meaningful. So if it were for Glenn to go, then it’s probably going to be awesome.”

So from that, we know that Rick and Morgan are going to have to merge their batshit craziness in order to co-exist in some manner, which CLEARLY can only have positive connotations for the other survivors, right? What could possibly go wrong there?

And the other thing we know is that someone, somewhere, is definitely, absolutely, one-hundred percent going to die in the most shit eatingly of ways.
God damn it it’s only been off the air for a couple of weeks and now I’m already frothing over the new season.
If previous air schedules are anything to go by, it’ll hit screens in October.
TOO LONG.
