Roald Dahl’s ‘The BFG’ To Get Big Screen Adaptation

I really hope that you all had Roald Dahl‘s classic novel The BFG read to you when you were a kid. Dahl’s wonderful storytelling prowess combined with the distinctive illustrations of Quentin Blake made the adventures of resourceful orphan Sophie and the 24-foot-tall BFG (Big Friendly Giant) seem utterly vivid and convincingly real. It’s time to crack open the frobscottle because it’s been revealed that DreamWorks is bringing the story to life after having recently acquired the movie rights.

Melissa Mathison, who wrote the screenplay for E.T., will adapt the novel – so we know the script is in capable hands. The question is who will take on the huge responsibility of bringing The BFG to life… Any suggestions?
