Rita Ora has been slammed for bribing a restaurant to break COVID rules and that’s on being ~wealthy~.
The ‘singer’ held her 30th birthday bash at a restaurant in London during lockdown. Ora reportedly paid the restaurant owner nearly $9000 AUD to put on the illegal party, according to The Sun.
The manager of the restaurant told police that only seven guests were supposed to show up, but almost 20 showed up instead. Ora even posted a picture of the event on her Instagram. But for some reason thought that people wouldn’t get suspicious of the balloons and massive cake in the background??? Yeah, not likely she was going to eat that all to herself.
Ora apologised on Instagram, but the damage was already done.
“Hello all, I attended a small gathering with some friends to celebrate my 30th birthday. It was a spur of the moment decision made with the misguided view that we were coming out of lockdown and it would be OK…” Ora wrote.
“This was a serious and inexcusable error of judgement. Given the restrictions, I realise how irresponsible these actions were and I take full responsibility.”
England’s current lockdown rules prevent people from going out unless it’s for a reasonable excuse. That means they are not allowed to gather indoors or outdoors with people outside their household. Pubs and restaurants are also closed (except for takeaway).
Just like Australia, the majority of people have been following the rules, so they are understandably pissed off that a celebrity has splashed cash in order to flout the rules.
Whilst Nurses & Doctors are physically, mentally & psychologically destroyed, working around the ⏰ on low pay, & families grieving @RitaOra is spreading the virus at her illegal Birthday party! What a vile & selfish diva! #COVIDIOTS
