Yes, hello an incredibly ripped Michael B. Jordan’s back as Adonis “Donnie” Creed to face off against an absolute beast in Creed II. Joining him, of course, is Sylvester Stallone who’s reprising his role as the legendary Rocky Balboa.
This time around, thing’s are a little different because even though Creed’s got a reputation as light heavyweight champion to uphold, he’s now got a daughter with partner Bianca (Tessa Thompson) to think of. But as we learn from the trailer, Creed makes the decision to get back in the ring for his next big fight.
Unlike the vast majority of trailers these days we don’t actually get much of a look at Creed’s next opponent.
Instead, we hear Rocky tell Donnie:
“You’ve got everything to lose, this guy’s got nothing to lose… This guy – he’s dangerous.”
And then we see the name, Drago.
Viktor Drago is the son of Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren AKA the dude from Rocky IV). Rack your brains and you’ll remember Creed’s father, Apollo, was killed by an Ivan Drago punch in Rocky IV. And yeah look, judging by the trailer Donnie takes a bloody beating.
Professional boxer, Florian Munteanu’s Viktor while Lundgren returns as Papa Drago.
Jordan posted the excellent, excellent movie poster to his social media earlier today. It’s just excellent:
