Japanese-British singer and songwriter Rina Sawayama—aka the artist behind the audio version of Karl Marx’s The Communist Manifesto, XS—is making her feature film debut and give my queen her Emmy already. Rina really heard our cries and said, ‘lemme give you a little bit more, oh me, oh my.’

According to Deadline, the Brit Award-nominated artist, who is also casually a model and studied a political science degree at Cambridge University, will make her big debut on the even bigger screen alongside Keanu Reeves in John Wick: Chapter 4. And folks, I am so fucking keen. Can you imagine the theme tune she’ll create for this?

To quote a viral tweet by Tyler, The Creator from 2011: “Un-follow me now, this is gonna be the only thing I tweet about for the next week. I’ve wanted this for years fuck. What the fuck.”

The exclusive report adds that Rina’s exact role in the film is being kept under wraps. Although, from a recent poll she did on Twitter about what kinda role fans would want to see her in (hero, villain, or anti-hero), it seems we all want to see her don a villainess coat and slay, literally.

“I’m so glad to have Rina on board to make her feature film debut in John Wick: Chapter 4,” director Chad Stahelski said, via Deadline.

“She’s an incredible talent who’ll bring much to the film.”

John Wick: Chapter 4 is expected to release on the 27th of May 2022. The film will begin production in the next few months and shoot on location in France, Germany, and Japan.

Rina Sawayama released her debut album—and arguably the best EP from 2020— Sawayama last year. Since then, she’s been catapulted into fame, released a deluxe edition of the banging album, collaborated with music legend Elton John for a remix of her track Chosen Family, and about to headline her first world tour.
