Rihanna & Lupita Nyong’o Have Secured A Legit Heist Flick ‘Cos Of Twitter

Sometimes, we witness an idea so incandescent with goodness that fate decrees it must become a reality. A hypothetical heist flick starring Rihanna and Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o is an idea of that calibre, and the powers that be have now committed to making it come true.

Barely a month after a Twitter user said RihRih and Nyong’o looked like they’d get up to mad scamming capers while seated front-row at a 2014 Miu Miu runway event, Netflix secured the rights to the flick with what Entertainment Weekly reports as “a very aggressive bid.”

Rihanna and Nyong’o had previously signalled they were dead keen on the idea, with director Ava DuVernay and lauded screenwriter Issa Rae being roped into the action not long after. As it stands, all four will be joining forces on the already-legendary film.

It’s reported that Rae is already penning the goods, and that the gang will assemble in 2018 after DuVernay wraps up her A Wrinkle In Time adaptation. Vanity Fair reports that the original Twitter brains behind this madness will also get a shout-out in some capacity, so props there, too.

Before then, we’ll get a glimpse of Rihanna’s heist abilities in Ocean’s 8. Or, we could just rewatch the BBHMM clip. Either way.

First looQ at #Oceans8 …. Coming summer 2018. ????
