There’s A ‘Rick & Morty’ Comp To Name An Actual Star So I Guess It’s Starry McStarface

While the highly anticipated fourth season of Rick & Morty doesn’t kick off until November, the excitement is already at an all-time high. Welp, get ready to shovel a ton of coal into the hype train, folks, because Adult Swim Australia is running a competition to celebrate the show’s return, and the winner will get to name their very own star.

This isn’t a goddamn joke, either, they’re gonna be naming an honest-to-dog star pretty much whatever you want. A real star emitting real light in the very real universe, and it’ll be yours. Not that you could actually visit it unless you wanna be burnt into literally nothing, but hey, still very cool.

Regardless of its deathly heat, just consider a few little (actually enormous) things for a moment here. You’ll be naming something larger than the entire planet we live on. In fact, considering that the average star size out there in the universe is roughly the same as our own sun, you’ll be naming something which could fit around 1.3 million Earths inside it. Wild, no?

You just know the entries for this are gonna be insane, as well. Apart from a billion “Starry McStarface” entries, I’m sure there are plenty of twisted Rick & Morty fans out there with some crazy ideas. I’m all for them, tbh.

If you’re keen to throw your hat into the ring, you can enter the comp right here. The most creative entry will win, with the prize including an official Rick & Morty certificate for the name of the star which will be recognised by the Star Registration organisation. The certificate will also include the star’s coordinates so you know where in the sky it is. C’mon, don’t be a Jerry, get on it.

The competition is open right now and will close on Thursday the 8th of August at 11:59pm, with the winner to be notified via the Adult Swim Australia Facebook page on Friday the 9th of August at 11am.

Best of luck, folks. Keep your fleebs rubbed and your plumbuses primed for Rick & Morty season 4 premiering this November.
