Richard Branson Unveils World’s First Ipad Only Magazine

Content not with shilling archaic ways to listen to music, credit cards, mobile phones and, most recently, interstellar transport, Richard Branson has swiftly beaten Rupert Murdoch to produce the world’s first iPad exclusive magazine. Unveiled yesterday in New York City’s Crosby Hotel, Branson’s Project Magazine, a $2.99/month publication which looks like a magazine but acts like a website, combines Wired’s considered yet slick aesthetic with Monocle’s stately world view. We think.

Art directed by Ché Storey and Edited by Anthony Noguera (Arena alumni both), Project purports to be “the first global magazine app for creative people about creative people” and boasts Tron star Jeff Bridges as its inaugural cover star. Though it looks like a magazine – pulling focus on design, entertainment, technology and entrepreneurs – Project will update much like a website with content and advertisements changing hourly. Check out the preview video below and tell us what you think. Is Project the future of publishing or a media land flash in the pan?
