Rebel Wilson Is Now Being Sued For Defamation By A Bauer Journalist

Rebel Wilson‘s legal dramas show no signs of letting up, with the actress herself being sued for defamation over a Twitter rant against a Bauer Media journalist.
In February of last year, believing that House & Garden editor Elizabeth Wilson had harassed her grandmother, Wilson took to the platform and labelled her “a disgrace” and “total scum”.
She also published a headshot of the journalist, but deleted the Tweets in question when she realised that she had identified the wrong Elizabeth Wilson, as two people with that name work for Bauer.
The two women had been attempted mediation, but this appears to have failed, with the NSW Supreme Court hearing that it is “doubtful” further discussion will resolve the matter.

“Do you think a mediation would be fruitful, or could be fruitful?” Justice Lucy McCallum asked the parties.

“I doubt it,” responded lawyers for Elizabeth Wilson.

This means that the matter will now go before the court, with a hearing date set for August 14.
Wilson herself is in the middle of a separate defamation trial, and is suing Bauer Media for a series of articles in Woman’s Day that she says damaged her career by painting her as a liar.
