The worst thing about working in the callous environment of live television aside from never being able to wear comfy pants is the expectation that no matter what happens, an autocue malfunction, say, you’ll never just give up, do a mic drop, raise your hands, and say, “fuck this I’m outta here”.
That would be “unprofessional”.
But when the alternative is as awkward, cruel and unwatchable as unwittingly taking part in a nihilistic conceptual art piece called soul leaves body, as experienced tonight by Nine news weather anchor Rebecca Judd, you’d be forgiven for moonwalking out of there.
Truth be told, we’d probably watch her read the phone book.
