Prince Harry Is Suing Two UK Tabloids For Allegedly Hacking His Voicemails

Prince Harry

In what has already been a big week for royal legal wrangles, Buckingham Palace has just confirmed that Prince Harry is suing two UK tabloids over claims they hacked his voicemails.

There are very few details about his allegations at this stage, however, the prince has taken action against The Sun and The Daily Mirror, claiming they illegally accessed his messages.

It is unclear when this alleged hacking took place, but News Group Newspapers, which publishes The Sun, confirmed that a claim had been issued by the Duke of Sussex, making no further comment.

Earlier this week, Meghan Markle took legal action against the Mail on Sunday, after it published sections of a private letter she wrote to her father.

Harry released a fiery statement about the situation, slamming UK tabloids for printing “painful” fabrications about his family, likening it to the way his mother Diana was targeted in the 1990s.

He said:

“My deepest fear is history repeating itself … I’ve seen what happens when someone I love is commoditised to the point that they are no longer treated or seen as a real person. I lost my mother and now I watch my wife falling victim to the same powerful forces.”
