Prince Harry has cancelled plans to travel to Amsterdam next week, leading royal watchers to speculate that the birth of his and Meghan Markle‘s new baby is imminent.

A representative for Prince Harry said in a statement:

“Due to the logistical planning for the travelling press to cover visits and engagements by The Royal Family, we have taken the decision to postpone The Duke of Sussex’s scheduled visit to Amsterdam on Wednesday 8th May 2019. The Duke is currently scheduled to travel to The Hague on Thursday 9th May for the launch of the Invictus Games The Hague 2020 as planned.”

People don’t really seem to have too much of a handle on when this baby is due, and that’s fully by design, since Meghan and Harry have said that they plan to keep the details secret.

Kate Middleton gave birth at the posh Lindo Wing of St Mary’s Hospital, and posed for photos on the steps shortly after having each child, but Meghan will not be doing the same.

Some have speculated that she is planning a home birth, and her mother Doria Ragland is said to be staying with her at her residence of Frogmore Cottage in Windsor.

Members of the public recently spotted a black Bentley near the couple’s home, being escorted by police motorcade, with a pink baby blanket inside.

This led to speculation that Meghan has already given birth to a girl, with royal-watcher Tamoor Ali telling The Sun:

“We saw a vehicle that had pink paraphernalia at the back of the windscreen go past – it was going very slowly over speed bumps. It seemed to me some kind of blanket of some sort. It seemed like someone was in there who couldn’t handle speed bumps – a baby.”
