PREEEEETTY GOOD: ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ Officially Back For Ninth Season

IT’S OFFICIAL: Curb Your Enthusiasm is coming back for a ninth season.

HBO confirmed as much this morning, with the joyous news that Larry David is back and ready to go.

“We’re thrilled that Larry has decided to do a new season of CURB and can’t wait to see what he has planned,” said Casey Bloys, president of HBO programming.

The show was never cancelled – Larry simply decided to take a well-deserved break.

When asked why he decided to come back after winding things up in 2011, he said: “In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, ‘I left, I did nothing, I returned’.”

Just last week we reported that J.B. Smoove, who plays Leon Black on the show, confirmed in an interview on The Rish Eisen show that Larry was think’ about coming back.

“I call Larry every two weeks, because he’s old, he’s a busy man, so I always check on older people,” he said. “I just talk about regular stuff with him, it’s not always Curb stuff. But this time! He brings up Curb Your Enthusiasm. I don’t ever bring it up.

“He starts off with his little, ‘Ehhhh, you know, I’m thinking about coming back’. But see, that’s great because he has not said no, which puts us in a great position for possibilities… that means it’s still going.

“If Larry does not say no, there’s a possibility he may say yes. And then he went extra. He said, ‘If I do come back, would you be available?’ I said, ‘You know something Larry, I’ll be available. Just call me, give me early notice, and I’ll be there’. I’ll move anything to the side for Curb Your Enthusiasm, which would be a fabulous thing to do. Season Nine would be fabulous.”

YES IT BLOODY WOULD BE.

HBO said that further details of the new season will be announced as they are confirmed, so hang tight mates. Hang preeeeetty tight.
