Please Read About Rob Lowe’s Very Real, Near-Death Encounter With Bigfoot

Rob Lowe, of ‘Parks and Recreation‘ and former Paris Hilton drinking buddy fame, is making a reality show that’s a cross between ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians‘ and ‘The X Files‘.

The premise is simple: you have to ‘keep up’ with Rob and his two sons as they investigate supernatural beings like poltergeists and Bigfoot, and no, we are not making any of this up.

The Lowe Files‘ is set to premier on August 2, and in the run-up to that blessed day, Lowe has given an interview to EW where he describes his very real, not at all fake encounter with a Bigfoot, or “wood ape”, as the Missouri locals call it.

“Nothing is staged, nothing is trick-cut — no B.S. I believe there are probably ghosts out there. The rest of [what we found I accepted on a] case-by-case basis, but we had an incredible encounter with what locals call the wood ape, which is in the Ozark Mountains. I’m fully aware that I sound like a crazy, Hollywood kook right now,” he said.

“We’re 100 miles from the nearest town. We spent 45 minutes on the most rugged, brutal mountain trails. It’s 1 in the morning. There are a lot of serious former military men with loaded weapons, then something starts approaching our camps that is defying their orders to stop and their warnings that [they were] armed.”

TBF, it’s not like Lowe doesn’t have *some* experience dealing with giant, ape-like creatures.

But this is something else. Lowe reckons his new show is like if you put Anthony Bourdain in a blender with Scooby Doo, a image likely to provide nightmares for even the most stable-minded among us.

So, if you’re into ghosties and ghoulies and long-legged beasties – plus whatever creatures Lowe and his sons manage to find, HEYOOO – tune in on August 2. The Bigfoot encounter is coming in the season finale.
