Completely badass and excellent pop queen Pink has blessed us all with a juicy early-noughties tale during an appearance on US talk show Watch What Happens Live.
For a bit of background, in a regular segment called Plead The Fifth, host Andy Cohen asks his celeb guest three questions, and they can only “plead the fifth” (i.e. not answer) one of them.
His third question for Pink was all about her long-running feud with Christina Aguilera, who burst onto the pop scene at around the same time. Far from playing coy, 38-year-old Pink was more than happy to dish on their famous beef.
We were super young and super new at the whole thing. I think I’m an alpha and she’s an alpha. I’m used to taking my altercations physical, and she’s used to having them verbal. And we’re just very different.
When Cohen asked Pink if she ever got physical with Xtina during their feud, she said: “Actually, she swung on ME in a club.”
Pink called the almost-altercation “hilarious”, but didn’t dish on exactly when it happened. Like, was this before or after their epic collab for Lady Marmalade?
Anyway, Pink obviously didn’t return the favour or we would have definitely seen grainy bitchfight footage from some punter’s shitty Nokia camera phone.
As much as we’re secretly frothing on this very 00s scrap, Pink added that the two singers have since buried the hatchet, making the very good point that “women have to learn how to support each other. It’s not taught on the playground.”
She told Cohen:
We’re fine. She’s so talented and deep down I’ve had bad days too. She’s a really sweet person. We made up on The Voice. It was funny, I laughed. I hadn’t seen her in years and years and years. We became mums and grew up. We hugged it out – it was that simple.
